Do you feel connected to your core truth?
Today is a full moon and full lunar eclipse, which can be a hectic period in your life. At this time, we are being asked to cleanse and simplify our lives on both the physical and [more subtle] energetic levels. To do this, we must understand the dynamics of our relationships and identify areas where we are stuck in loops of suffering. This is about cutting cords, letting go, and following our truth, all of which are essential if we are to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Today, we find ourselves called to share one of the core values of our teachings, with the intention that it reminds and encourages you to find your path and inner guidance in this great apocalyptic shift.
Authenticity is about finding coherence and consistency between our core values, beliefs, and actions. It is an instinctive inner knowing of what is true to us at any given moment, and the ability to act upon that truth regardless of external influences or other people’s opinions.
Our authenticity emerges from a vital energy center in our human energy field, connected to our “gut-feeling” or “gut-brain”. It has been described in most lineage-based spiritual teachings as the “Hara”, “Lower Dan Tien” or “Svadhishthana” energy centre (also known as the sacral chakra). This is where your lifeforce resides. When you are fully connected to it, you feel sovereign, creative, confident, aligned, and ready to take action.
It’s worth mentioning that it is within the dynamics of codependency (when we are unconsciously emotionally attached to another in a relationship, based on implicit fear or guilt), that we lose the vivacity of this essential and most powerful source of our energy. Many of us sacrifice our authenticity for a false sense of safety, or out of sympathy for the other. This can leave us feeling unfulfilled, resentful, and trapped.
How Can I Be More Authentic
To answer this question, we must go beyond our comfort zone and inquire deeply. To be authentic means to be real, to be genuine.
Where are you not real with yourself?
Where do you change yourself to please and appease?
Authenticity is Ultimately Existential
Authenticity is connected to our true essence and embodiment of consciousness and presence. It is an innate guiding system, connected to nature and the universe. It is a precise knowing that empowers us to act accordingly at the right time and in the right manner.
If we take a look at history, we can easily determine that all of the greatest human beings shared one thing in common; they were all unique in the way they followed their authenticity, especially when they were up against it. This is the creative power of this energy centre; it knows beyond time and space.
Integrity is a Key Virtue
Integrity and authenticity are closely related. Integrity is the quality of having strong ethical principles and following them at all times, especially when no-one else is watching. A person with integrity acts with honesty, honour, and truthfulness towards oneself and others.
To be in integrity means that you know your own inner truth. It also implies that you have the courage to align and show full respons-ability for it. This is the time to take action!
Take a moment to sit still and breathe slowly until you feel calm and grounded.
Then ask within yourself, where am I not aligned with truth in my life?
Allow the times, places, and relationships to reveal themselves and feel into them. With a little practice, you will find the answers and hidden truths about where you are compromising too much, or even where you have lost yourself.
To be authentic, we must be willing to face our fears and discern between our emotions (guilt, shame, fear, anger etc), thoughts, and the truth.
A clear sign that we are being authentic is when we feel fully aligned with our inner and outer world. It is in these moments where synchronicity peaks and everything in our lives flows effortlessly and in harmony. In contrast, when we are being inauthentic, we may feel depleted, resentful, judgmental, helpless, and scared.
If the path to authenticity feels a little overwhelming and too much to take on alone, or if you think you could benefit from some guidance to get started, we have good news…
